'Bee Catcher' (watercolour and gold leaf on wooden panel)
This is one of a series of miniature (6” x 4”) paintings inspired by the marginalia found in illuminated manuscripts of the medieval era. This piece is inspired by an illustration from the Maastricht Book of Hours (c1300 - 1325) and depicts a young man catching bees.
This version has been recreated by me, with liberties and embellishments, using watercolour, casein and 23.75 carat gold, mounted onto a wooden panel and varnished. The painting is framed and ready to hang in a beautiful 24cm x 19cm (9½ x 7½”) wooden frame.
The listed price includes free UK shipping. I am very happy to ship worldwide upon request. (If you live outside the UK, please contact me to discuss the postage options for your country.)
